About

Recent years have lead me to explore themes regarding our relationship to industry and the cognitive and physical work that goes on between our hands and eyes. Further, the digital revolution has heightened my scrutiny of society’s willingness to relinquish the value of the full compliment and use of our senses in exchange for technical convenience.

My preferred method of art making is from life and often on location. This work style untethers me from the digital world and its tools and returns me to the most fundamental, instinctual and unfettered use of my hands and eyes. However, due to the pandemic and logistics, my fully immersive and ‘in situ’ practice has given way to opportunities in the studio that have allowed me to focus on aspects of scale, light and complexity of composition which can be seen in the latest work (see Bethlehem Steel series).

Prior to surrendering to a more personal creative path, my early professional career was that of graphic designer, art director and creative director which included positions at Sotheby's, the South Street Seaport Museum and working independently for several fortune 500 companies.
